Terms of Service

Last updated October 23, 2026

1. Who we are

Blobby Classroom Economy ("Blobby", "we", "us") is a classroom economy website made by a teacher in British Columbia, Canada. These Terms of Service are an agreement between you and us. By creating a teacher account, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Blobby.

2. Who can make an account

Teacher accounts are for adults (19 or older in British Columbia, or the age of majority where you live). Students and staff never sign up themselves: their teacher makes their accounts.

If you use Blobby with students, you are responsible for making sure you're allowed to. That includes following your school's or district's rules for online tools (some districts require a privacy review first) and getting any permission or consent they require.

3. Your account

Keep your password private and use one you don't use anywhere else. You're responsible for what happens in your account, including what your co-teachers, Bankers and other staff do with the access you give them. Tell us right away at support@blobby.ca if you think someone else has got into your account.

Student and staff PINs are shown to the teacher so they can be printed and reset. They protect class money only and should never be used as passwords for anything else.

4. Your content

Everything you and your class put into Blobby (names, classrooms, jobs, store items, pictures, transactions) stays yours. You give us permission to store it and show it to you and your class only so we can run Blobby for you. We don't sell it, share it with advertisers, or use it to train anything.

Don't upload anything you don't have the right to use, or anything unlawful, hateful or inappropriate for a classroom.

5. Acceptable use

Please don't:

  • try to get into accounts, classrooms or data that aren't yours;
  • attack, overload, scrape or probe the site, or get around its limits;
  • copy, resell or rebuild Blobby, or use it to make a competing product;
  • use Blobby for anything unlawful.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

6. Free trial, licences and activation codes

New accounts get a free 14-day trial. After the trial, an account becomes read-only (you can still see everything) until a licence is added.

Licences are sold as activation codes. Each code works once and adds its years (usually one) to the account it's entered on, after any paid time already left. Codes can be given to anyone. A code that hasn't been used expires 18 months after it was bought; the buyer is emailed before that happens, and can email support@blobby.ca to ask for fresh codes. Codes have no cash value.

Prices are in Canadian dollars. Taxes are added where they apply. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store card numbers. Schools and districts can also pay by invoice, cheque or bank transfer.

7. Refunds

If Blobby isn't right for you, email support@blobby.ca within 30 days of buying for a full refund of any codes that haven't been used. After that, or for codes already used, refunds are at our discretion and we'll do our best to be fair. A refunded code stops working.

8. Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time in Account Details. Deleting it erases your classrooms, student and staff accounts and all saved history, and it can't be undone, so export anything you want to keep first.

Accounts nobody has used for 18 months are deleted automatically. We email the teacher 30 days and 7 days before, and logging in keeps the account. Paid time counts as use: the 18 months start when it runs out.

9. Availability and changes to Blobby

We work hard to keep Blobby running and your data safe, but it's provided as it is, without guarantees that it will always be available or free of errors. We may add, change or remove features. If we ever shut Blobby down, we'll give at least 60 days' notice so you can export your data, and we'll refund unused paid time.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't responsible for indirect or consequential losses (such as lost data, lost time or lost profits) from using Blobby, and our total responsibility for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer protection law that can't be waived.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll tell teachers by email or on the site before it takes effect. Using Blobby after a change means you accept the new terms.

12. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
